The cycle of Challenge & Growth:
It might get harder before it gets happier.
Before you make change happen, please consider the following challenges:
It will likely get harder before it gets easier.
You may feel more isolated and alone before you feel more connected and free.
People around you are likely to resist change and you may receive more push back than support during the adjustment and transition.
You may not fit in where you once did. This is because you are experiencing your true belonging and not changing yourself for others.
Not everyone is willing to work as hard as you are and this can cause conflict and even disconnection with others. Your truths will tell you what is right for you.
Remember, these feelings are temporary. Deep breath in…long exhale out…I will be here to support you through the challenges.
The beautiful L O N G view:
You will not only build the confidence to choose what is right for you, you will also attract what is right for you. When you are on the right path, universal intelligence has your back.
How will counseling help me?
Visualize what successful therapy will look like for you.
Then, make it happen.
These statements are from clients who consider their therapy successful:
I am so much nicer to myself now. I pointed at myself in the mirror the other morning and said “you’re a fucking badass” and I really meant it.
I truly feel like a leader now; no longer an imposter. I know I will do great things and believe others can too.
I can do the hard things because I know they are the right things for me.
I don’t back down from speaking my truth. It’s REALLY hard, but I’m doing it and getting better at it.
I never really knew what inner peace felt like until now. Like, I know my values and I make decisions aligned with them and…HOLY SHIT, IT WORKS!
I know that no matter what, I will be okay. I trust that I will be okay and feel stronger not “needing” someone to save me. I am so much better for it.
I surround myself with “my people” now. Being around people who get me takes stress off and, at the same time, gives me so much in return.
I don’t have to be mean for people to take me seriously. I just have to say “no, that doesn’t work for me” and move on.
I am SO much happier now since I started putting myself first and meeting my own needs. It’s very liberating.
Imagine how different your life could be if you were the one saying these things.
Knowing your highest values and making decisions aligned with them is your gateway to personal freedom.
This is your Truth.

I like to think of stress as caused by an external factor. An example could be a situation at work, in a relationship, an economic factor or the weather conditions. Something happens outside of you and you make a choice on how to respond to it.
That choice you make on how to respond to it can be led by how confident you are in handling that stressor. If you feel as though you cannot handle the stressor well enough and you have fear in the face of the stressor, that could lead you to feel anxious. You may avoid, dismiss or even shame yourself for not being able to manage the stress you are feeling.
Over time, such reaction may build worry that you cannot manage the stressors and they start to over power you, leading you to lose trust in yourself and trust in others. Fear sets in and that gives the stressor power over you.
Anxiety is defined by worry that is persistant and can stick around even after the stressor is no longer there.
Stress and Anxiety can present very similarly. Both can cause sleep dysregulation, fatigue, irritability, physical health problems and concentration issues.
In the work we will do together, it is an important distinction. The goal is to be a good manager of stress, give stressors purpose and meaning and to deter anxiety from setting up shop within you.
Creating power from within is the outcome of the work we will do so you feel couragous, confident, calm and connected within yourself to manage the stressors and deter the cycle of stress and anxiety.
